Fades & Tapers
Precision fades and tapers cut to your exact specifications, from skin fades to temp fades, blended clean every time.
A fade or taper is more than a haircut. It's a statement. At House Of Fades Woodlands, we cut every fade with the same attention whether you're getting a low skin fade for work or a high temp fade for the weekend. Our barbers know how to blend from tight to long without leaving lines or patches. You walk in with a style in mind. You leave with it on your head.
We handle every fade type. Low fades sit just above the ear and work for conservative looks. Mid fades start higher and give more contrast. High fades go all the way up and make a bold move. Skin fades take it down to bare scalp. Temp fades shape the temples and hairline. Drop fades curve down behind the ear. Burst fades wrap around the ear without a hard line. Tell us what you want or ask for a recommendation based on your hair type and face shape.
The difference is in the blending. A clean fade requires multiple guard lengths, clipper-over-comb work, and detailing with trimmers. We take the time to get the gradient smooth. No harsh lines. No uneven spots. No rushing through the back because someone's waiting. Your fade gets done right or it doesn't leave the chair.
Fades grow out fast. Most clients come back every two to three weeks to keep the look tight. We're located at 514 Sawdust Road in The Woodlands. Call (346) 831-0158 to book your appointment. Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but booking ahead guarantees your spot.
Our barbers have cut thousands of fades. They know how to work with thick hair, thin hair, curly hair, straight hair. They know how to adjust the blend for your head shape. They know how to line up your hairline and beard to match the fade. You're not getting a generic cut. You're getting a fade that fits you.
Fades & Tapers — FAQ
How often should I get my fade touched up?
Most fades need a touch-up every two to three weeks to stay sharp. If you like a tighter look, come in every two weeks. If you don't mind a little length, three weeks works. It depends on how fast your hair grows and how clean you want the fade to stay.
What's the difference between a fade and a taper?
A taper gradually shortens the hair but doesn't go down to skin. A fade takes the hair all the way down to bare skin or very short stubble. Tapers are more conservative. Fades are sharper and more dramatic. Both require blending, but fades need more precision at the shortest lengths.
Can I get a fade if I have curly or textured hair?
Yes. Curly and textured hair actually holds fades well once it's cut correctly. Our barbers know how to adjust clipper angles and blending techniques for different hair types. The key is understanding how your hair grows and cutting with the grain to avoid irritation or uneven spots.
How long does a fade haircut take?
A standard fade takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the style and your hair type. More detailed fades with designs or lineups can take longer. We don't rush. The time it takes is the time it takes to get it right.
